When it is not worth fixing

Repair is justified as long as it is cheaper than rebuilding. We say this before the invoice, not after:

  • Engine is no longer supported — old Joomla, Drupal 7, custom PHP 5 without source code. Each edit will cost more than the previous one, and security cannot be fixed in principle.
  • Site built with a website builder and hit its limit — there is nothing to edit inside the builder — there is no code. It is more reasonable to move to your own platform.
  • No access or contractor contacts — then first a separate task — regain control over the domain and hosting, and only then repair.
  • Breakage is caused by business logic, not code — for example, the payment provider account is closed. We will see this during diagnostics and refund its cost.

Frequently asked questions about repairing someone else's website

Will you take on a site you didn't build?
Yes, that's a common situation. We review third-party code during diagnostics: the engine, PHP version, plugins, latest changes. If you need ongoing supervision after the repair, that's website maintenance from €49 per month.
How long to wait for a response if the site is down right now?
During business hours (GMT+3) we respond within an hour, and on the substance of the issue within four. If downtime costs money every minute, write to us on Telegram and mark it as urgent: we'll take it on the same day.
Why is diagnostics paid?
Because that is the main work: finding the cause in third-party code takes longer than fixing a line. Diagnostics costs €190 and is included in the repair cost, and if the cause turns out not to be in the code, we refund it in full.
Can you fix it without hosting access?
No. At minimum, hosting and admin access are required; otherwise we can neither make a backup nor deploy a fix. If there is no access and the contractor is unresponsive, we first help regain control through the domain registrar and hosting provider.
Do you make changes on the live site?
Where possible, on a copy, then we deploy it during an agreed window. Where a copy cannot be set up (cheap hosting without staging), we make a backup and make targeted changes, with the ability to roll back within a minute.
What if it breaks again after the repair?
If the same issue recurs within 30 days, we fix it free of charge. If something else breaks due to updates, that is new work; to prevent that, there is support with monitoring and updates.
WordPress website — do you work with it?
Yes, most often with it. Development and rework on this CMS are described separately on the page WordPress development. For repairs, the CMS does not matter: the price is the same for all.
What should I do right now, before your reply?
Do not delete anything and do not reinstall plugins: this removes traces of the cause. If you can, make a backup through the hosting panel and send the website address, the time the problem appeared, and what was changed last.
