Two payment rails, one clear scope of work
Wise multi-currency checkout
Invoice clients in their own currency without opening foreign accounts. Wise handles conversion at mid-market rates, you receive funds in EUR.
Cryptomus crypto acceptance
Accept USDT and other coins from customers in regions where bank rails are slow or unavailable. Rate locked at checkout, settled in crypto or fiat.
Webhooks and reconciliation
Automatic order status updates on payment confirmation. Wise matches incoming transfers to invoices; Cryptomus listens for on-chain confirmations.
Fees, rates and test mode
Display processing fees and applied exchange rate in the order. Sandbox testing for both providers before go-live, no surprises after launch.
Where we integrate Wise and Cryptomus
How we integrate Wise and Cryptomus
Scope and account setup
We map your payment flows: Wise for multi-currency invoices, Cryptomus for crypto checkout. Then we configure accounts, permissions, and access.
API keys and webhooks
We generate API credentials, set up webhook endpoints, and connect test environments for both Wise and Cryptomus.
Checkout and reconciliation logic
We build the payment flow: currency selection for Wise, coin selection and rate lock for Cryptomus, order status updates, and payment matching.
Testing and go-live
We run sandbox scenarios: underpayment, overpayment, network confirmation delays, failed webhooks. Then switch to live keys and monitor the first real transactions.

Two Payment Scenarios: Wise Transfers and Crypto Checkout
Why these two integrations live on one page
Wise and Cryptomus solve opposite problems. Wise handles multi-currency bank transfers for B2B services and contractors outside the eurozone. Cryptomus lets you accept USDT and other cryptocurrencies when a client cannot or does not want to pay through a bank. We build them as separate modules: you can start with one and add the other later.
When Wise is the right choice
- Invoices in the client's currency — you bill in USD, GBP or CHF while your Cyprus company keeps clean EUR accounting
- Contractors outside the EU — pay freelancers and suppliers without losing 3–5% on hidden conversion markups
- B2B services — consulting, development, design retainers where bank details on an invoice still matter
- Automatic reconciliation — incoming payments are matched to orders by reference, amount and currency
- Recurring cross-border payments — predictable fees beat traditional correspondent bank charges
When Wise does not fit
- Card payments at checkout — Wise is not a payment gateway; use Stripe or JCC for that
- High-risk or crypto-related activity — Wise de-risks aggressively and may freeze funds for review
- Strict escrow or conditional logic — Wise has no native escrow; a bank or Stripe is more suitable
- You need chargeback protection — bank transfers are final; disputes are manual and slow
When Cryptomus makes sense
- Clients from countries with restricted banking — crypto is often the only reliable way to pay internationally
- USDT-first checkout — stablecoin payments avoid volatility while the order is being placed
- Rate fixed at order time — the client sees the exact crypto amount and it stays locked during the payment window
- Automatic order status updates — webhooks fire when the network confirms the transaction, no manual checking
- Digital goods and services — no physical delivery, so blockchain confirmation is enough to release the order
When Cryptomus does not fit
- Conservative B2B clients — many corporate buyers simply will not pay in crypto
- Strict accounting requirements — every crypto payment needs a clear EUR valuation and supporting documentation
- Low-value microtransactions — network fees can eat a noticeable share of small payments
- You want zero volatility exposure — even a 15-minute payment window carries some price movement risk
Wise fees for Cyprus businesses
- Receiving EUR locally — free with Wise Business
- Receiving USD, GBP, CHF — small fixed fee per transfer, no percentage markup on the amount
- Conversion — typically 0.3–0.6% above mid-market rate, far below bank spreads
- Sending to contractors — fixed fee per transfer, no correspondent bank deductions
- Multi-currency account maintenance — no monthly fee for holding balances
Wise is a payment institution, not a bank in the classical sense. Your funds are safeguarded, not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme. Stripe remains the better choice for card acquiring.
Cryptomus fees and rate mechanics
- Processing fee — percentage of the order amount, configurable per currency
- Network fee — paid by the client on top of the order amount
- Rate source — aggregated from major exchanges, refreshed continuously
- Rate lock window — typically 15–30 minutes, configurable per project
- Withdrawal — you choose when to convert crypto to EUR and pay the exchange fee at that moment
Cryptomus is a custodial payment processor. You do not need to run your own wallet or node, but you should convert to EUR regularly if your operating costs are in fiat.
What we actually build: Wise module
- Multi-currency invoice generation — order total is converted to the client's currency at the moment of invoice creation
- Payment reference matching — incoming Wise transfers are reconciled against open orders automatically
- Overpayment and underpayment handling — partial payments are flagged, excess amounts are recorded as credit notes
- Contractor payout automation — batch payments to freelancers with individual references
- Daily reconciliation report — EUR equivalent of every received payment, ready for your accountant
What we actually build: Cryptomus module
- Checkout redirect — client selects USDT or another coin, sees the locked amount and payment address
- Rate lock at order time — the crypto amount does not change during the payment window
- Webhook handling — payment detected, confirmation count tracked, order status updated automatically
- Underpayment and overpayment logic — short payments are flagged for manual review, excess payments refunded or credited
- Refund flow — refunds are sent to the original address after manual approval
Compliance and risks, without the scare tactics
Wise is regulated but not a bank: your balances are safeguarded, not guaranteed by a deposit scheme. Cryptomus is a crypto payment processor: you are exposed to exchange rate movement until you convert to EUR. On Cyprus, crypto payments are legal, but you must record the EUR value at the time of the transaction and keep supporting documents for your accountant. Banks may ask questions about crypto-related inflows, so keep your records clean and convert regularly.
How accounting works with both modules
- Wise payments — each transfer has a bank reference and a EUR equivalent; export matches your invoice numbering
- Cryptomus payments — the system stores the locked rate, the crypto amount and the EUR value at order time
- VAT treatment — the EUR value at the moment of sale is your taxable base, not the value at conversion time
- Exchange differences — if you hold crypto and convert later, the difference is a realised gain or loss
We provide a simple export format that fits most Cypriot accounting workflows. You stay in control of how and when conversion happens.
Timeline and scope
Wise integration with invoice matching and reconciliation — 3–5 working days. Cryptomus checkout with webhooks and rate lock — 3–6 working days. Both modules together with accounting export — 1–2 weeks. We test in sandbox mode before switching to live credentials.
Pricing for this page
- €390 — one module, standard flow, no custom logic
- €690 — one module with custom statuses, partial payment handling and accounting export
- €1290 — both modules, full reconciliation, refund flows and documentation for your accountant
FAQ
- Is it legal to accept crypto on Cyprus? — Yes. Crypto payments are not prohibited, but you must record the EUR value at transaction time and keep supporting documents. Your bank may ask for the source of funds.
- How is the exchange rate accounted for? — The system locks the rate when the order is created. That locked EUR value is your accounting base, regardless of what happens to the rate later.
- What happens if the client underpays? — The order is flagged and not fulfilled automatically. You decide whether to accept the shortfall, request the difference or cancel and refund.
- What happens if the client overpays? — The excess is recorded as a credit. You can refund it to the original address or apply it to a future order.
- How do refunds work with crypto? — Refunds are manual and sent to the original address. The amount is calculated at the current rate or the original locked rate, depending on your policy.
- Do I need a separate Wise or Cryptomus account? — Yes. We integrate with your existing accounts. We can help you open them, but the accounts remain in your company's name.
- Will my accountant understand this? — We provide a flat export with invoice number, EUR amount, currency, rate and payment reference. Your accountant works with EUR figures, not crypto addresses.
