Work on an existing website · Migration from a website builder

Hit the limits of a website builder — we move it to an engine of your own

Tilda, Wix or Squarespace are no longer enough: the integration you need is missing, the site lives in someone else's account, you pay a subscription every month and have nothing to take out of it. We transfer content, page URLs and rankings to our own engine. Migration review and plan €190.

When the builder becomes too limiting

Migration is not always justified: for a small landing page, a builder is cheaper than any custom solution. Below are the cases when it starts getting in the way.

The integration you need simply does not exist

CRM, 1C, local acquiring, warehouse or booking. Inside the platform it either cannot be connected or is held together by a workaround that breaks with every update.

The site lives in someone else's account

The project belongs to the account owner — often a contractor, not you. As long as the account is not yours, the site can be lost along with it.

Subscription grows, the asset does not

A monthly payment for the platform and for each extension. In two or three years, the total amount could have paid for a custom website.

Cannot implement what SEO requires

Cannot set a page URL, fix the markup, add a required tag or a language version. Part of the promotion work is blocked by the platform.

The catalog has outgrown the platform

Thousands of products, custom filters, prices by customer groups, marketplace exports. A website builder is not designed for this.

There is essentially no export

You get the markup without the admin panel and without the data, and sometimes even that is not available. The longer the site lives inside, the more expensive it is to leave.

How we migrate

Migration step by step: without losing URLs and rankings

01

We take a site inventory

All pages and their URLs, blocks, forms, integrations, language versions, traffic sources. Separately — what is actually used and what is left over from previous years.

02

We send a plan and estimate

What we transfer one-to-one, what we rebuild, and what we drop. This also includes the redirect map: which old URL leads to which new one if anything changes.

03

We build the site on an engine that stays yours

We transfer content and structure, restore forms and integrations, connect analytics with the same counters. You can review it at a temporary URL before switching.

04

We switch the domain and monitor indexing

Switching during an agreed window, redirects from all old URLs, sitemap submitted to the webmaster panel. For the first weeks we keep the site under observation: pages should be re-indexed to the new URLs.

Price for the work

How much a migration from a website builder costs

The price is fixed after the audit, before work begins. The website builder subscription is paid until the switchover — it cannot be cancelled earlier.

After the migration, the site remains yours: code, database and hosting are on your accounts, with no monthly platform fee. Only the hosting cost and, optionally, support remain.

What remains with you

What you get besides the new site

Source code and database

Code and content in your repository and on your hosting. Changing contractors after this is a matter of transferring access, not migrating again.

Redirect map

An “old URL → new URL” table for all pages, with each row checked after switching. This is what preserves accumulated rankings.

Site inventory before migration

All pages, forms, integrations and counters recorded before work begins. It shows later whether anything was lost.

Admin panel guide

How to add a page, product or news item. A short document and a screen recording, so edits do not require a contractor.

Honest boundary

When migration is not needed

A website builder is a normal tool, and some sites should stay on it. We say this before the estimate:

  • A one-page site that does not change — if it is a business card site with a phone number and a map, a website builder is cheaper to maintain. Migration pays off through complexity, not principle.
  • It is not the platform that is lacking, but the content — if ten people a month visit the site, the problem is not the builder. Migration will not add traffic: first you should address promotion.
  • The site is needed in a week — migration with URL preservation cannot be done in less than two weeks. If the deadline is fixed, it is more reasonable to stay and migrate after the campaign launch.
  • The design will have to be built from scratch — some builder templates cannot be transferred without reworking: animations and blocks are tied to its code. Then it is more honest to consider this a new site rather than a migration — and the price will be different.

During the audit we show both estimates side by side: staying and migrating. If migration does not pay off within a couple of years of subscription, we will say so.

FAQ · Migration from a website builder

Frequently asked questions about leaving Tilda and Wix

Will I lose search rankings after migration?
There is a risk, and it is reduced by one thing: preserving page URLs and redirects from all old pages to new ones. If a URL changes, a permanent redirect is set up, the sitemap is updated, and for the first weeks we monitor indexing in the webmaster panel. A drop for a few days during re-indexing is normal; a prolonged decline is a sign of an error in redirects, not an inevitability.
Can I simply export a site from Tilda?
Export gives you the markup — HTML, styles, and images — but not the admin panel, forms, or data. Such a file can be placed on hosting and it will even open, but only a developer will be able to edit it. Therefore, migration means transferring content to a CMS with an admin panel, not downloading a folder.
How long does migration take?
A landing page — one to two weeks, a corporate website — two to four, an online store — three to six. The site keeps working on the builder during this time: we switch the domain only when the new version has been checked on a temporary address.
Which CMS do you migrate to?
It depends on the task: most often it is WordPress if you need a familiar admin panel and plugins, or our own reccms when integrations, a catalog, and multiple languages are important. We explain the choice during the analysis, and it is not tied to us: both can be handed over to any contractor.
What if I want to keep the design as is?
That is usually what we do: we build the same structure and the same appearance on our own code. The exception is blocks that rely on platform scripts; we rebuild them and show the difference before switching.
What will happen to forms and inquiries?
We rebuild the forms on our side and connect them to the same place where inquiries were sent before: email, Telegram, CRM. Old inquiries stored inside the builder should be exported before canceling the subscription — after cancellation, access to them is lost.
Is it worth migrating for speed?
Sometimes yes, but this should be checked by measurement, not by hearsay: some slow sites on the builder speed up without migration. How the measurement works and what it provides is described on the site speed optimization page.
Website builder account is registered to a previous contractor — what to do?
First regain control: as long as the account belongs to someone else, you will not get either an export or the domain. The procedure is described separately — site recovery if the contractor disappeared. After that the migration proceeds as usual.
